The Terminator and Me

29 Aug

You never know who you might meet at the mall. I just met the Terminator. No, not Arnold Schwarzenegger — Jeff Reardon, a baseball legend. Reardon played in Major League Baseball from 1979-1994 for many teams including the New York Mets and Yankees, Atlanta Braves and Boston Red Sox. According to Wikipedia, “Jeff Reardon was nicknamed The Terminator for his intimidating presence on the mound and his 98 mph fastball.” I met him at the mall post office where he was mailing out a baseball.

If you are a Terminator movie star fan, don’t worry. Terminator: Dark Fate with Arnold will be released this November.

“Live by the Sun, Love by the Moon”

8 Aug

My friend Carolyn Krieger, a public relations maven and owner of CKC Agency in Farmington Hills, Mich., moved to a lake house after her divorce.

Carolyn is all about bright colors — her fashions and her decor. So it was no surprise that she opted to furnish her home in vibrant hues. The colors just pop!

Krieger shopped locally at Art Van and Leon and Lulu for the exhilarating look.

Writer Jeanine Matlow captured her story in an article in the Detroit News here, with photos by David Guralnick. Krieger describes how the home helped her transition to the next chapter in her life.

A blanket with the message: “Live by the sun, Love by the moon” was a housewarming gift from Fox 2 news anchor Monica Gayle, our mutual friend.

This home just makes me smile!
