Today I attended the second annual Women’s Leadership Breakfast at the Detroit Athletic Club.
City Year is an education-focused, non-profit organization. City Year works with young students in areas with high dropout rates. The program places a mentor in an at-risk high school and serves as role model. In this innovative program, City Year staff commit to a year of community service. I sat at a table with a City Year staffer who works at Cody High School in Detroit. The program sounds life-changing not only for the students it serves but for the participants.

Great first entry! Very informative.
However, I think that this can be spruced up a bit:
First I would make the image a hyperlink to the event.
Second it would be nice to see their logo in the middle of a box of four images that you have taken. Or with some other design.
Third, more hyperlinks. “Women’s Leadership Breakfast” (event page), “Detroit Athletic Club” and “Cody High School” (school main page) could all be hyper linked.
Fourth, use of underline, font type, font size, and underline, for key words.
These are suggestions from an artistic to keep in mind.
