Monica & Girlfriends
13 JanOn Friday, Jan. 10, I took the oath as President of the Greater West Bloomfield Chamber of Commerce. West Bloomfield is a beautiful suburb near Detroit filled with lakes, parks and wildlife. It was a very special day especially since my friend, Monica Gayle (left), Evening News Anchor of Fox2 Detroit introduced me and was the master of ceremonies. The Chamber has more than 200 business members, and our mission is to grow business in the area, while promoting the community. Not only did my colleagues attend along with dignitaries in the Township, but many of my girlfriends supported me as well. Looking forward to 2014, and a special shout out to girlfriends everywhere!
A Tender Moment
21 NovMotown fashionistas celebrated the 20th anniversary of the boutique Tender in Birmingham, Mich. Sisters Cheryl and Karen Daskas have an eye for style in shoes, handbags, jewelry and women’s apparel. They introduce emerging and established designers with panache. The story carries all the exclusive designers like Miu Miu, Lanvin and Jason Wu. But, I love it when they introduce an upcoming young designer who is featured the very next month in Vogue magazine. Here are some snapshots from their anniversary party held on Nov. 20th at the store.

Here’s Hillary
16 NovI had the opportunity to meet Hillary Clinton (left) at a Beaumont Foundation event last week. On the right she is speaking with Florine Ministrelli the benefactor of the Ministrelli Women’s Heart Center at Beaumont Health System. Politics aside, it was quite thrilling to meet her. She gave a wonderful speech to the philanthropic group. When I met her I said one phrase “2016,” and she replied, “Thank you.”
